Sergeant Rick Yarosh, retired US Army, joined the Army in 2004. In September 2006 while deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, his Bradley Fighting Vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device (IED.) He and his injured comrades received extensive treatment and physical rehabilitation at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Since leaving Brooke, Rick has shared his amazing story of perseverance in confronting traumatic battle injuries, and turned his recovery into a source of inspiration for others. Rick's story of hope and positivity has served to motivate corporate, university and high school audiences all over the world.
Rick's road to recovery was assisted by the skills of dedicated technologists who developed specialized, purpose-driven solutions for the new challenges in his life. The technology he uses everyday enables him to live a rich and full life. We are excited to welcome Rick to STC 2017 to share this singular part of his compelling story.
